About the Founder
My name is Inna Sopronchuk. I am the founder of the online school of Ukrainian language – “Speak Ukrainian,“ as well as a blogger and writer. I was born and raised in Ukraine.
I teach my beautiful Ukrainian language to people from around the world through private lessons, courses, textbooks, and flashcards. Additionally, I share free video lessons on my YouTube channel "Speak Ukrainian."
About the Project
My dear friends, on February 24, 2022 the lives of all Ukrainians changed due to the full-scale war. For three years, we have faced significant losses and destruction. Millions of Ukrainians lost their homes, had to flee, or ended up in cold bomb shelters without food, medicine, and warm clothes. It is hard to describe the daily challenges my people endure.
My hometown, Kherson, was under russian occupation for 10 months. All citizens were blocked and couldn't get any humanitarian help there. Experiencing shortages of food and medicine firsthand, I saw many friends and acquaintances posting on social media about their need for medicines, baby food, or diapers. Some people volunteered, risking their lives to leave the city and desperately needing financial support.
I wanted to help but didn't know how. On March 26, 2022, while under occupation in Kherson, I was hiding from explosions in a corridor, scrolling through news feeds, when I saw a photo of Stephen King wearing an "I stand with Ukraine" t-shirt. That moment motivated me to create a charity store selling merch with Ukrainian symbols, spreading our culture and knowledge while donating 100% of profits to aid efforts.
Thus, my charitable project "Buy a T-shirt - Save Ukrainian Life" was born. Starting alone, I now have a team helping me grow the store. Our main focus remains the Kherson region, my home. Unfortunately, the war persists, and so does our support.
On June 6, 2023, the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was destroyed, causing severe flooding. Many people needed financial support, food, medicine, generators, and inflatable boats. We actively responded to these needs.
We also support our military by purchasing the electronic warfare systems, drones, EcoFlow units, sleeping bags in winter, and other essential items.
You can find all our reports on the Donations page.
Parts of our territories are still under occupation, and people in front-line zones particularly need help. They require medicine and baby food, and in winter, we constantly help by providing portable stoves.
Our mission is to provide vital support to those affected by the war and to promote Ukrainian culture worldwide. Every purchase you make helps us continue this crucial work. Thank you for standing with Ukraine. Together, we can make a difference.
